A successful event

How do you organise a successful event that visitors will talk about for a long time to come? Read the essential tips below to ensure that your efforts will soon be rewarded.

1. Professional invitation

It all starts with the invitation. The first impression must be good, in whatever form it takes. Distinguish yourself in this and create a sleek or bold invitation. Use fun photo or video material. After all, how fun is it if you receive an invitation via video, for example?

2. Build the tension

After you have sent the invitation, it is not a matter of waiting. Keep engaging your visitors by sending them one or more updates. The updates rekindle interest and by announcing new speakers, for example, you build excitement towards your event.

3. On-site welcome

What applies to the invitation also applies to the reception on location. Let your visitors know that you appreciate their coming. The entrance is the ideal time for that. Do you need help with that? Consider hosts and hostesses. They master the reception of guests to perfection. Moreover, you can brighten the arrival of your visitors with balloon arches, flags, red carpet and champagne.

4. Speakers and chairman

After the invitation and reception, expectations are undoubtedly high. Then, of course, it is important to have the right speakers and a good chairman for the day. So spend a lot of time on that. Why are you looking for speakers? Do they fit the target audience? Have you seen them "live? The answers to these questions will go a long way in helping you find the right speaker.

5. Interaction at your event

The speaker is also the one who can get your visitors moving and thus promote interaction. However, this need not only come from the speaker. In fact, there are many other ways to get your visitors to interact. Go for creative knowledge sessions or challenging game formats. At both formal and informal occasions, this will lead to success.

6. Give visitors name badges

During your event, visitors are in constant contact with each other. It is useful that visitors can recognize each other. And that can be done by using name badges. Think carefully about what you want to put on these badges and how. Name? Function? Logo? Size? Style? Font type?

7. Updates on social media

Leading up to your event, you've probably deployed your social media channels. Definitely don't forget to use them during your event, either. Provide updates and show what's happening. After all, there are always people who couldn't be there and would love to experience your event. In addition, create a hashtag. Anyone can then post about it and it increases your online visibility.

8. Ask for feedback

Your event will often be discussed afterwards and the reactions will often be positive. There is also a good chance that you will organize another event. Then it is important to know what your visitors really thought of it. What could have been better and what went well? Ask your visitors for feedback, by sending them a short questionnaire, and take the reactions seriously.

9. Provide a photo album

What did the dinner or knowledge sessions look like? And how nice did the group photo turn out? These are questions that visitors may have afterwards. Then of course it is great if you can share visual material. How do you do that? Take photos, compile them in an online or physical photo album and then send this album to all visitors. That's how you make it memorable.

10. Make it unforgettable

Speaking of unforgettable... Give your visitors something extra to take home. This certainly doesn't have to be big. It's all about the gesture. At least try to give something your visitors can use more often, so they can think of you again in their daily lives.
